Christmas and the Festival of Kings

In French we have been talking about how Christmas is celebrated in France and making comparisons to the UK.

We have also been discussing the importance of 6th January in France also known as 3 Kings Day/Festival of Kings where it is traditional for families to make a galette (a famous cake made from puff pastry, almond paste and apricot jam).  Inside is placed a charm and the youngest member of the family normally hides under the table and decides who gets which slice.  The person who finds the charm will wear a paper crown and will become king or queen for the day.
